About Franca Contea

Franca Contea has worked in Adro since 1960. The vineyard is located in a moraine area with high permeability soil. The program spans Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Pinot Bianco, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Carmenere, Nebbiolo, and Barbera. Vacuum pressing preserves aromas and flavors at harvest. Minimal chemical intervention guides the cellar. The house ages Franciacorta on lees for a minimum of 18 months, Satèn for 24, Millesimato for 30, and Riserva for 60. Barriques are used in wine aging.
