FireClay Cellars

About

FireClay Cellars sits in the Haw River Valley, Chatham County, where the program spans wine and cider. The cellar works with Chardonel, Cabernet Doré, Traminette, Chambourcin, and Tannat. The 2022 Reserve Chardonel spent seven months in French and Austrian oak. The 2022 Cabernet Doré and Traminette both landed on the wine list at Counter-, a Michelin star restaurant in North Carolina. The 2022 FireSide Red Blend, a field blend of Tannat and Chambourcin at 13% ABV, sits alongside the 2020 Purple Martin, aged twenty months in French oak. The house crafts a Méthode Champenoise Cider from over ten heirloom apple varieties grown in North Carolina, bottled at 8.3% ABV. Group tours and tasting experiences are available by advance booking. Open Friday and Saturday 11am–5pm, Sunday 12pm–5pm.
