San Miguel's Escalar Wines is a family operation. Eric Symonds, the winemaker, draws from his great grandparents' roots in Asturias to build a program around Tempranillo, Tannat, Grenache, and Albariño. The house produces less than 500 cases annually. Piel Del Toro, a Tannat, anchors the portfolio alongside a Tannat Rosé. The 2020 Rosé was hand-picked with his son, Wyatt. The tasting room welcomes visitors, and food is available.
