About
Founded in 1900 and acquired by Julien Damoy at the beginning of the 20th century, Domaine Pierre Damoy is now in its fifth generation of family ownership. Pierre Damoy took over in 1992 and manages three of Gevrey-Chambertin's nine grands crus: Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze, Chapelle-Chambertin, and Chambertin. The domaine is the largest owner of Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze and holds Clos Tamisot as a monopoly. The estate covers nearly eight hectares and produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Winemaking uses partial destemming and fermentations lasting up to five weeks. Aging spans approximately 18 months in oak, with new wood at 50% for Village appellations, 70% for Clos Tamisot and Chapelle-Chambertin, and up to 80% for Chambertin and Clos-de-Bèze. The domaine does not sell directly to individuals or open for visits.
