About Domaine La Capitaine

Nine generations deep in Gland, Domaine La Capitaine was founded in 1994 under Johann's direction. The house pioneered organic and biodynamic farming across the canton of Vaud, building a program that spans Chasselas and Chardonnay alongside Pinot Noir, Gamaret, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Malbec, Diolinoir, Galotta, Gewürztraminer, Johanniter, Sauvignon Gris, Viognier, and Rosé de Pinot. The cellar also produces an Eau de vie de raisin aged eight years in barrel. The wine bar and after-work venue opens Saturdays from 9am to 12pm for tasting and sales. A terrace hosts events.
