About Château Patache d'Aux
Sixty-three hectares split across Bégadan and Saint-Christoly du Médoc, anchored on two distinct soils. The Bégadan limestone plateau and Saint-Christoly alluvial gravel terraces support the vineyard. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominate, with Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot in small proportion. Jean-Jacques d'Aux, Lord of Bégadan, acquired the lands in 1660 and participated in marsh drainage. Vines were first planted in 1710, with the first harvest in 1720. A cellar was constructed in 1779. By 1932, the château earned its Cru Bourgeois designation. Wine is vinified in thermoregulated concrete vats and aged in French oak barrels. Located ten kilometers from the Gironde estuary and thirty kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean.
