About Château de Sales

Founded in 1578, Château de Sales has remained in the same family for nearly five centuries. The property boundaries hold nearly unchanged since its establishment, save three hectares lost during the Revolution. The château itself is registered as a historic monument. Today, 47.60 hectares of vines across the 90-hectare domain make it the largest vineyard in the Pomerol AOC. The program plants 73% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Cabernet Franc at a density of 5900 vines per hectare. Visits are available Tuesday to Saturday from 10:30 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 17:30, offered in French and English. A tasting fee of 15 € per person applies.
