Castle Oaks Vineyard and Winery began with vines planted in 2006 in Athens, Texas. The winery itself was founded in 2011, with construction starting that May and the first harvest arriving in July 2012. The program grows Black Spanish and Lenoir grapes. The portfolio includes Round Table Red, 1543 (a semi-sweet full bodied red with light tannins), Sir Thomas (a dry red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot), Royal Red (Lenoir and Black Spanish aged 27 months on American Oak), and II Knights (a Lenoir, Black Spanish, and Mourvèdre blend aged 12 months on American Oak). A tasting room is available.
