About
Buckhorn Creek Vineyard & Winery sits on thirty acres a few hundred feet from the northwest shores of Kentucky Lake, founded in 2015. The vineyard harvests Riesling, Chardonnay, and Cayuga now, with Baco Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Vignoles, and Vidal Blanc maturing for years ahead. Tornado Red, a Cabernet aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels, carries the name of the F4 tornado that struck the community on December 10, 2021. The program hosts Snip and Sip harvest events, drawing neighbors into Chardonnay and Riesling work. An event center for one hundred is under construction. Wines appear at Good Spirits in Calvert City and Benton, and Ky Dam Liquors in Gilbertsville. The house also shows at Bluegrass BBQ and Brew each April and the Artisan Market each November, both in Grand Rivers.
