About

Ian Brand began winemaking in the early 2000s at Bonny Doon before establishing his own program focused on Monterey County and the surrounding coastal regions. The portfolio divides into three distinct voices. Paysan offers village wines made to be shared with community. I. Brand & Family showcases unique, single-vineyard old-vine bottlings. La Marea draws on Iberian grapes from the sunny coastline. The tasting room sits in Carmel Valley Village, housed in a former bookshop called The Encounter, once owned by the sister of Joan Baez. Brand earned Winemaker of the Year from the San Francisco Chronicle in 2018.
