Back in 1979, a Spanish dreamer named Manuel López López fell in love with Mendoza and rescued an abandoned, century-old bodega from the ruins of Argentina's wine crisis. Bodega Patrón Santiago is named after the patron saint of Spain and Mendoza itself, a symbol of this immigrant's pride in his roots and respect for his adopted home. Today, winemaker Andrés López Cuiña carries on that labor of love with a tiny production that proves patience and passion still matter.
