About Bodega Miguel Merino

Bodega Miguel Merino in Briones began in 1994, following Miguel Merino's career as a wine exporter starting in the mid-1970s. The house is now led by three winemakers, Miguel Merino, Miguel Merino (hijo), and Érika, working with Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha, and Mazuelo across vineyards planted between 1929 and 2001. La Loma, 1.4 hectares from 1946, holds Tempranillo and Garnacha. La Quinta Cruz is pure Mazuelo from a single vineyard planted in 1986. The Miguel Merino Reserva 2020 draws from vines planted in the 1960s. The Gran Reserva 2020 aged 24 months in new French oak, then a third year in used barrels. All grapes are hand-harvested and transported in small boxes.
