About Blaqmead LLC
Anthony Cooksley and Karl Shaw launched Blaqmead in August 2023 in Athena, Oregon, on the Walla Walla Valley's Oregon side. The only mead producer in the area, they work with locally sourced honey to craft traditional meads, melomels, and metheglins. Gobnait Gold arrived first, released in November 2023, followed by Blueberry Bliss, Habanero Dulce, and Lavender Libation. The tasting room is styled as a classic Irish pub.
