About the winery

Today, Bimbadgen’s two premium Hunter Valley vineyard sites, Palmers Lane and McDonalds Road, form the foundation of our winemaking. Home to our three flagship varietals; Semillon, Chardonnay, and Shiraz, these vineyards produce exceptional fruit, including prized old vine parcels. Our winemaking team carefully harnesses the distinct terroir and unique characteristics of each site. This commitment to site expression results in wines of outstanding quality and unmistakable personality. Bimbadgen’s story began in 1968, with the planting of the first Shiraz vines on what is now our renowned Palmers Lane vineyard. Soon after, we established our second key site: the McDonalds Road vineyard. In 1997, a major redevelopment of the winery took place, when the business—then known as Parker Wines—was purchased by the Lee family and renamed Bimbadgen. The name Bimbadgen came from the local Indigenous language, meaning “place of good view.” We recognise the profound connection between our vineyards, operations and the broader ecosystem, and strive to minimise our ecological footprint while producing wines and wine region experiences of outstanding quality and character. Our sustainability commitment is an ongoing journey of continuous improvement, where we actively seek innovative solutions and partnerships to further reduce our environmental impact.
