Bennett Lane Winery, situated approximately three miles north of Calistoga, is one of the northernmost wineries in Napa Valley, providing a quieter tasting experience due to its less frequented location. Founded by Randy and Lisa Lynch in 2003, the winery was previously known as Vigil Vineyards, established in 1989. The name Bennett Lane honors James N. Bennett, an early settler in the region. The winery features a modern Mediterranean-style tasting room with views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards, including a garden area for outdoor tastings.
Bennett Lane specializes in Cabernet Sauvignon, with its estate vineyard and the nearby Lynch Ranch both exclusively planted with this varietal. The winery's wines reflect a balance of fruit and complexity, with notable offerings including the Ruby Fox Cabernet Sauvignon and various blends like Maximus. The tasting experience is intimate, often including older vintages upon request. Additionally, the winery hosts unique events, such as a private blending experience and chocolate pairings.
