Barrel and Beam operated from a log cabin on Northwoods Road in Marquette, a building that has hosted gatherings since the 1930s, when the Northwoods Supper Club first opened there in 1934. The brewery made naturally carbonated farmhouse beers, ciders and meads, with a focus on barrel-aged beers made with local ingredients. Named RateBeer 2019 Best New Brewer in Michigan, the operation ran for nearly nine years before closing.
