About Assigal
Mathias Prugmaier leads Assigal, a third-generation operation in Leibnitz, Südsteiermark. The cellar focuses on Sauvignon Blanc and Blaufränkisch. Recent releases include the Sauvignon Blanc Kitzeck-Sausal 2023, which took first place in its category at Die Presse Schaufenster Ortsweinverkostung, and the Sauvignon Blanc Ried Kogelberg 2022, awarded Gold at the Sauvignon Selection by CMB. Prugmaier claimed first place in red wine at the 2025 Jungwinzer:in der Steiermärkischen Sparkasse competition. The house earned 97 out of 100 points from Weissweinguide Österreich. The Buschenschank offers outdoor seating and guest rooms.
