Aschauer

About

Eight hectares across the Kremstal and Kamptal, worked by three generations. Franz Aschauer, born in 1946, began the program. His daughter Edelgard, born in 1955, and granddaughter Hannelore, born in 1990 and trained at HBLA für Wein- und Obstbau Klosterneuburg, now work the cellar. Grüner Veltliner grows on loess soils at Kremser Sandgrube and Kremser Kerschbaum. Riesling occupies the Sunogeln and Stratzinger Gärtling terraces. Pinot Blanc is grown on the Hasel vineyard in Langenlois. Blauer Zweigelt, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are grown on Hausberg, Weinthal, Priel Bandl, and Holzgasse. The Donauriesling won silver at the Internationaler Piwi Weinpreis 2021.
