Acres Away began in 2018 in Ashley, Indiana. Shane Christ started making wine at age 22 in 2002 and worked at Satek Winery in Fremont, Indiana for over 20 years. Kirk Etheridge is co-winemaker. The winemaking team has combined 30 years of experience. The program spans 5 acres of estate vineyard and produces both wines and ciders. Three medals from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition recognize the cellar's work. The wine club ships to 38 states with no membership fee and the flexibility to cancel after the first two shipments. The house also offers igloo rentals.
