About Weingut von Agris
Weingut von Agris began in 2021 when brothers Gregor and Benedikt took over two hectares across Michelbacher Apostelgarten and Wasserloser Schlossberg in Alzenau. The work follows organic viticulture under certification DE-ÖKO-022. Hand-harvested fruit moves through spontaneous fermentation and biological acid breakdown, then into used wooden barrels in a vaulted cellar for minimum ten months. The program spans Spätburgunder, Schwarzriesling, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Spätburgunder ferments whole-bunch and ages sixteen months in Barrique. Riesling ages sixteen months in Barrique. The house also makes Sekt via traditional method, minimum twenty-four months on lees before disgorging, and a Pétnat of eighty percent Weißburgunder and twenty percent Spätburgunder.
