About Von Hövel
Von Hövel began in 1803 when Emmerich Grach acquired the former monastery winery St. Maximin in Oberemmel. Now in its seventh generation under Maximilian von Kunow, the house works vineyard sites including Scharzhofberg and Oberemmeler Hütte Monopol, producing Riesling. A founding member of VDP, the program has earned five grapes in Gault&Millau, four stars in Eichelmann, and Falstaff's Collection of the Year in 2024. A tasting room is available. The winery will close permanently in 2026.
