About
Weingut Schwörer has worked the steep vineyards of Durbach since 1812. Plauelrain, Ölberg, and Kochberg anchor the program, where Josef Rohrer, owner since 2001, oversees a diverse portfolio. Riesling, Spätburgunder, Weissburgunder, Grauburgunder, Traminer, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Sauvignon Blanc move through the cellar. The Spätburgunder reds age exclusively in wooden barrels. Beyond still wines, the house produces Winzersekt from Klingelberger Riesling and Spätburgunder Rosé, plus Schwarzwälder Edelbrände from its own distillery, including Kirschwasser, Williams, and Mirabell. Recent recognition includes placement at 17th in the DLG Top 100 Best Wine Producers in Germany for 2025, and three Gold and six Silver awards at AWC Vienna Spring Tasting 2026.
