Weingut Walter Perll sits in Boppard in the Mittelrhein, where vineyard slopes in the Bopparder Hamm reach inclinations of up to 85 percent. Founded in 1972, the estate works 7 hectares in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The named sites are Elfenlay, Fässerlay, Mandelstein, Feuerlay, Ohlenberg, and Weingrube. Grapes are harvested late by hand. Walter Perll, Walter Perll Jr., Elisabeth Perll, and Klaus lead the work. The portfolio is 35 percent dry, 40 percent semi-dry, and 25 percent sweet. Tastings accommodate groups up to 50. Guided vineyard walks with or without tasting are available.
