About Weingut Jakob Schneider

Weingut Jakob Schneider has been family-owned since 1575 in Niederhausen, in the Nahe region. Since 1901, the work has centered on steep vineyards. Twenty-four hectares, eighty-five percent planted with Riesling, sit on geology of remarkable complexity. Fifty-two different rock formations, predominantly volcanic, alongside slate and river sediments, define the vineyard. The cellar produces 180,000 to 200,000 bottles annually from an average yield of 60 hectoliters per year. Three generations work together now. Jakob Schneider tends the vineyard and cellar. Laura Schneider leads marketing, trade, and export.
