About
Daniel Vollenweider founded this Mosel winery in 2000 with a single hectare in the Wolfer Goldgrube. Five hectares now span the valley, ninety percent within that same vineyard. The vines include ungrafted stocks over a century old, trained in the traditional single-stake system and tended entirely by hand. Organic certification frames the work. Fermentation relies on indigenous yeasts, followed by extended time on the lees. Dry wines from individual parcels have been classified since 2024. Kabinett, Spätlese, and Auslese are traditionally vinified with residual sweetness. The Im Reiler parcel has remained in its original form for centuries, its soil sitting above the remains of a Roman press. Moritz Hoffmann has jointly managed the program since 2019. Vinzent Ewest continues the story from 2025.
