Weingut Spiess has farmed Bechtheim since 1509, when the family first worked the land in Rheinhessen. Today, Christian Spiess and Johannes Spiess tend 43 hectares of south-facing vineyard in the region's warm south. Loess-loam soils and limestone subsoil are present in the vineyard. They produce Riesling, Weißburgunder, Chardonnay, Grauer Burgunder, and Pinot Noir. The program rests on sustainable viticulture. A tasting room welcomes visitors.
