Weingut Schmitt-Kranz works Riesling across two banks of the Mosel, from vineyards in Riol and the Mehringer Goldkupp on the opposite slope. The family operation ages its wines in a barrel cellar beneath a 200-year-old winemaker's house, where the program also includes Winzerglühwein from Müller-Thurgau and Dornfelder. Purchases are by telephone reservation only.
