About
1882 Winery & Vineyard opened in 2010 as Griggs County's first winery. The name honors Thomas Cooper, who owned the property in 1882. The program works exclusively with North Dakota grown fruits and cold climate grapes. Homestead Red blends Sabrevois, St. Croix, Foch, and Frontenac. Rainy Day Red draws from Petite Pearl, Crimson Pearl, and St. Croix. Twisted Red ages in Hungarian oak. The house holds memberships in Pride of Dakota, the Winery Association of North Dakota, and the North Dakota Grape and Wine Association. Bottles are available at Happy Harry's Bottle Shop in Fargo and Grand Forks, Millers Fresh Foods in Cooperstown, and Town & Country Co-op in Finley.
