About Weingut Fritz Allendorf
Weingut Fritz Allendorf began in 1955 when Fritz Allendorf planted 1.5 hectares in Oestrich-Winkel. His family had lived in the Rheingau since the 13th century. Four generations now tend vineyards across the region. Riesling grows on Quarzite in the steep slopes of Rüdesheim. Spätburgunder grows on slate near Assmannshausen. In Winkel, loam and loess support the vineyards. The house holds membership in the VDP, Germany's association of premium estates. The tasting room welcomes visitors Monday through Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM, with food service available.
