The reason Healdsburg wins this

Twenty-one tasting rooms sit within a third of a mile of the Plaza. You can book one hotel, walk to everything, and never once discuss transportation. For a bachelorette that is worth more than any single winery on the list.

The Plaza itself is the hub. Everything below is a short walk off it.

02

Start with the bubbles

Breathless Wines is the one to book first. Three sisters make méthode champenoise sparkling, tastings run from twenty five dollars, and there is outdoor seating. It is the correct first stop for a group that has just arrived and wants the weekend to feel like something.

Longboard Vineyards is the other easy yes. Twenty dollars, food, a patio, dogs welcome, and an unpretentious room that lets a big group be loud without anyone minding.

03

The Plaza loop

Siduri Wines pours coastal Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a lounge with a record player going, and it takes dogs. Thumbprint Cellars runs a gallery alongside the tasting room. Portalupi Wine Co. has food and a patio. Meeker Vineyards is twenty dollars and lets you taste inside the production space, which is a better room than it sounds.

GrapeSeed Wines pours inside the Paul Mahder Gallery in a double Quonset space of more than eight thousand square feet. Bills Tasting Room does lunch with their own kitchen doing the pairing. Lioco has been buying fruit from small family ranches since 2005 without owning a single vineyard.

04

Where to put the nice dinner tasting

Bella Vineyards and Wine Caves is fifteen minutes out of town and pours inside an actual cave. Thirty five dollars, food, a picnic area. It photographs better than anything on the Plaza and it is the one stop worth the drive.

Capo Creek Winery does a vineyard garden with cheese, which is the right call for the slow afternoon on day two.

05

The practical bit

Selby Winery keeps tastings personalised and paced, which is useful when half the group knows wine and half is here for the weekend. Hawley Winery and Marine Layer Wines are both a two minute walk off the square.

One hotel, one square, twenty one rooms.
